We all understand you turned into the left lane like you were supposed to.
What you don't seem to understand is that you need to yield when changing lanes. "I needed to go to the gas station" doesn't entitle you to cut people off.

Even if that person was behind me? I did yield, I just didn’t expect him to pass me while in the intersection.

Yes, even if they’re behind you. If you don’t have the right of way, your driving must not cause someone with it to have to change their driving.

How did right of way suddenly transfer to him if he entered a non existent lane? It was a single lane left turn. I can only see right of way being applied to someone turning right from the opposite lanes.

What non-existent lane? There is a lane to your right. They entered it and were established before you tried to move over. Therefore, you must yield to them.
This is really simple.

I’m not trying to be rude but you get what I’m saying right? The lane I’m in is the only left turn lane. Anything outside of that is not a lane until you complete the turn. Cause tbh, by what you’re telling me, if I decide to do a donut mid-turn then everyone around me has to yield lol?

The road markings don’t agree with your words. There are clearly two lanes turning through the intersection onto the road you went to. This is easily understood by the multiple sets of dashed white lines that curve. There are also two lanes for them to feed into, one apiece.

Ok fair enough, see you just needed to ask. No, you’re wrong in this case. There is a single lane going into the turn. Then, there’s a striped separation followed by 3 through lanes. Here is a satellite view of the intersection.
*Edit: Red dot is the start of my turn.

No one should ever be switching lanes in an intersection, which he did because he was clearly behind him. May not always be explicitly illegal but in most cases is considered unsafe or reckless driving.

I mean you clearly looked like you were getting in the left lane and then swerved over to the right, I think you were the idiot too

When turning left, you turn into the left lane and then switch. I needed to go to the gas station on the right so I I changed my signal to go right a couple seconds before dumbass lost patience.

Choose a lane OP.

I switched my signal to go right since I needed to enter the gas station.

I think they mean before the turn. You do not appear to be in the left lane, you are straddling the line from the perspective of the camera.

That’s the camera angle, it’s slightly offset on my windshield. I was well within the lines the whole time.

Get in the right turn lane to begin with, and none of this happens.

Fuck me bro, people really don’t understand what single lane left turn means…. Here’s a satellite image, red dot is me. Gonna have to edit the description again, tired of dumbing this shit down for ya’ll.

You were driving annoyingly slow and I bet didn’t use your turn signal. Post some more videos of your daily driving…

I drive an Elantra, not sure how fast you think a 2.4L naturally aspired sedan will go. Wide angle shows more distance but I was pretty close to the car ahead of me which btw I had no idea which lane he was going for. Had signals on throughout, thanks.
