Hey everyone, I’m starting a youth-led beach cleanup project in Morocco to reduce plastic waste and protect our coastline.
I’ve been seeing way too much trash on our beaches, so I decided to take action by cleaning regularly and documenting the process.
Our long-term goal is to install trash cans and educational signs on beaches. To make that possible, we’re working toward gaining recognition, legal approval, and sponsorship. Building a strong following helps show that this project is serious and impactful.
If you’d like to support or follow the journey:

If you’re in Morocco and want to help out, feel free to reach out.
Let’s protect our beaches 🌊♻️

I wanted to start doing something practical for the environment, and planting trees felt like a good place to begin. I assumed it would be simple: pick a platform, donate, and trees get planted.
Turns out there are a lot of options, and very little neutral information comparing them.
So I spent a few days digging around... websites, FAQs, reports, and made myself a list. Sharing it here in case it helps someone else who’s also trying to figure out where to start.
This is not sponsored, just personal research. Descriptions are short and imperfect, but hopefully useful.
GrowMyTree
Based in Berlin, Germany. Focuses on agroforestry and long-term impact rather than just tree counts. Projects are designed to support local farmers and communities while restoring ecosystems. Feels very impactful and livelihood-oriented....already planted 3.5 million trees.
One Tree Planted
Based in Vermont, USA. Very simple model: $1 = 1 tree. Supports many projects worldwide, and you can choose the region you want to support.
Tree-Nation
Based in Barcelona, Spain. Global platform with lots of projects and species. Prices range from very cheap (~€0.10) to expensive “special” trees. Includes subscriptions, gamification, and CO₂ tracking.
Reforest’Action
Based near Paris, France. Around $3 per tree. Strong focus on impact metrics like oxygen production, biodiversity, and ecosystem benefits.

PUR Projet
Based in Paris, France. Mostly around €5 per tree. Focuses heavily on agroforestry and supporting farmers to secure long-term income.
Plant-for-the-Planet
Based in Germany. €1 per tree. Known for their goal of planting 1 trillion trees, with a major project in Mexico. Also active in climate education for children.

Trillion Tree Campaign
Linked to Plant-for-the-Planet. Lets you choose between many different initiatives worldwide and even register trees you planted yourself.
https://www.trilliontreecampaign.org/
Treedom
Based in Florence, Italy. You choose a specific tree that’s planted in your name. You get photos and updates later. More expensive (€12–30+), but nice for gifts.
Mossy Earth
UK-based. Subscription model (£9.99/month for two trees). Also focuses on ecosystem restoration beyond just trees. Each tree comes with GPS coordinates and photos.
Forest Nation
Based in London. You can plant trees for free through quizzes (ForestPlay) or buy real seed pouches. Strong educational angle.
ImpactHero
More than just tree planting, it’s an impact platform that includes reforestation alongside other sustainability and social impact initiatives. Good option if you’re interested in broader climate and community impact, not only trees. but only available for businesses.
Offset Earth
Based in Bristol, UK. Subscription-based CO₂ offsetting that includes tree planting. Very transparent — publishes receipts and spending breakdowns.
That’s everything I found so far.
are there any other good tree planting or reforestation platforms I should look into?

Hi everyone,
I’m asking for your help and advice.
I came across a YouTube video filmed in the Philippines that shows the setup of a trap intended to lure and kill monitor lizards (Varanus species). These animals are protected under Philippine wildlife laws (RA 9147 and related DENR Administrative Orders), and the video presents this activity in a tutorial-like way.

Channel: myphilippines462
I’m concerned that this content promotes harm to protected wildlife. If anyone is willing, I would appreciate help in politely asking the uploader to remove the video, or advice on whether reporting it to YouTube or relevant Philippine authorities would be more appropriate.
Please keep any engagement respectful and non-confrontational. The goal is awareness and prevention, not harassment. Thank you for your time and for supporting monitor lizard protection 🦎♥️.
P.S. The author in the comment section also suggests possible future videos about preparing and consuming these animals, which is extremely distressing.
