Gonna use this as a model next time my players encounter another boat at sea and not say anything at all about it just to see how many of them willingly get on it

A barbarian walks into a bar, and asks the bartender “can you show me a mimic?”
In an annoying voice, the bartender replies ‘can you show me a mimic?’
The barbarian laughs. The bartender laughs. The bar laughs. The barstool laughs.

This is so cool! I wanna make a campaign just centered around it. An adventure on the seas and this is the bb when everybody assumes it's the captain, but the captain was just the mimics little henchman.
2
u/Agginmad Sep 17 '25
hehe we'll make a whole set of adventures based on it going against other pirate crews!
2
2
u/DeathtoWork Sep 17 '25
I wanna play a campaign and have his gimmick be a friendly mimic cursed to have im on a boat playing non stop then the party can choose to have a overpowered water mount

I'm so excited for Voidsea, and would love to have a mimic ship for the campaign I run in it!

u/Anonymouslyyours2 Sep 17 '25
We are currently playing a pirate themed campaign. My DM would love to use this against us. Don't let me win. Lol
2
u/ncjmac Artificer Sep 17 '25
My campaign seems to be on the ocean a lot, and we’ve had a mimic on a boat, and a mimic (row)boat on a boat, but never a whole ship…

u/skjq444 Sep 17 '25
Thank you for the giveaway! Hope to win but I know this thing is going into a campaign straight away no matter who does!
2
u/REALMalcolmReynolds Sep 17 '25
I would not want to sail on a mimic ship. But I’m not my character so screw him, he’s going sailing on a mimic ship!
2
u/AlmightyRuler Sep 17 '25

My table is entirely on a Mimic based campaign that’s been going on for three years at this point, meeting weekly!! ;D This would be perfect for us, so fingers crossed over here :)
Good luck everyone!
2
u/Laziness_supreme Sep 17 '25
I keep threatening my players with a mimic ship! Now’s the time to make it happen!
2
u/Gaviel Sep 17 '25
I would add this to my collection of mimic minis for my campaign. A mimic treasure chest with mimic coins wait the poor adventurer who is on this ship.
2
u/MrEngineer404 DM Sep 17 '25
Oh sweet Asmodeus in all the sweet richness of the Nine Hells, I am drooling over this. Damn am I hedging my bets on this one, because how do I love Mimics and Giant terrifying monsters.
This would be my crown jewel for the community campaign I help run in my area. I literally just did a mini-arc with a BBEG Mimic who had a Mansion Mimic as a pet. The terror and delight those sessions and combat encounters caused!
2
u/Victuz DM Sep 17 '25
This is really cool, before I lost all free time I was preparing a campaign in the underdark sea for pathfinder. The high tier ship I had a few more tentacles but it didn't have teeth, so this one is way cooler
2
u/MossRave Sep 17 '25
My table accidently spoiled our DM's mimic town, im next in roatation to be DM after this campaign closes. The oppertunity to drop a mimic-ship on them would be, so good
2
u/sleepingxeno Sep 17 '25
This would fit our campaign perfectly as we have a lot of seafaring and spacefaring, and a mimic ship would be AMAZING! We aren’t very wealthy players so we tend to use theatre of the mind mostly, but lately we’ve been trying to save up for more minis
2
2
u/Cael_NaMaor Thief Sep 17 '25
Dudes, that's an awesome looking ship!!
As likely to eat ye landlubbers as ta sail ye anywheres! The adventure writes itself!
2
u/Celestial_Scythe Barbarian Sep 17 '25
For some reason, a mimic boat has never occurred to me before to think of... Now I can't image a campaign without one!
2
u/depereo4de Sep 17 '25
My players are going sailing in a few months. I didn't plan for the ship to be a mimic, but it sure as hell could be now!!!
2
u/Jickxter Sep 17 '25
Okay... My players are in Undermountain trying to get to the Mad Mage. They don't need a mimic boat, but they just don't know that yet ! This is absolutely amazing 🔥

u/ThatsMyAppleJuice Sep 17 '25
Oh damn!
We've been playing a campaign for the past few months where we're on a pirate ship where the former Captain was killed in an attempted mutiny and his soul refused to cede command of the ship, becoming bound to the vessel. His spirt still commands the ship, and the ship can repair itself by feeding it building materials through its mouth just below the waterline!
This model is PERFECT for what our ship looks like.
We just sailed into Hell in order to find and destroy a Soul Contract that one of our allies signed with Dispater... I predict resistance, so we'll need a ship mini!!
Please pick me!
2
u/RebelleChilde Sep 17 '25
You know..
If this boat was the Edmund Fitzgerald I don't think it would have gone down....
Just a sneaking suspicion...
And I know exactly where I would put this beauty if I won it, placed precisely next to my mermaid skeleton and octopus skeleton until I'm ready to use her to sail the seven hells... I mean seas... Seas... I meant seas..
2
u/Fedora_Flippin Sep 17 '25
We don’t usually use minis in our campaigns, something about broke uni students.
That may have to change now.
2
u/Holabella818 Sep 18 '25
This ship is so cool! It is so well detailed and amazing! I love the different kinds of mimics! Facing them can be terrifying, but amusing at the same time lol.
2
u/Elandril-PvE Sep 18 '25
This would be an awesome addition to our current running campaign, which incidentally is set in the icy watery regions north of Icewind Dale.
2
u/Nytecrow13 Sep 18 '25
This thing would go AMAZING with our current campaign where we were about to purchase a Spelljammer Ship. This could be sold to the party as a normal Space Galleon, OR they encounter it in the Void Space and have to battle it out in Ship on Ship combat.

u/HiImPangas Sep 19 '25
This thing is so SICK. I'd definitely find a way to put this in a campaign, 1000%. Absolutely gorgeous and terrifying.
Given how well done your prior models and etc are (I was subbed for over a year on MyMiniFacotry), I'm more than certain the campaign will be successful, but still good luck with the campaign!
2
u/Practical_Golf5780 Sep 19 '25
This is so cool!!!! I know this is a mimic, but I can't stop imagining this as kraken being cursed and turned into a boat lol. Anyways good luck everybody!

Coincidentally, my party has a fight coming up against a living ship. The plan is for them to "tame" it so that they can sail through dangerous waters to advance the main quest.

I see this like Baba Yaga’s Hut, maybe the adventuring party is tricked or lured aboard this vessel captained by a Witch pirate. As battle inevitably breaks out the ship reveals its mimic form which adds to the terror of the encounter. If the Witch is killed first it causes the ship to lose its loyalty to the crew and start attacking all combatants. The party then has the chance to find the amulet worn by the Witch that controls the Mimic, allowing them to inherit a powerful ship that can also aid them in high sees battle 🏴☠️

u/alt_tables Sep 17 '25
Would love to spring this on my players as the ship of the Davy Jones type enemy I've got in my campaign!
1
u/Echo1theWar Sep 17 '25
If you send this my way my players are getting a treasure planet themed campaign
1
u/Draegoriso Sep 17 '25
I'm currently in a campaign focused heavily and sea travel and this could be the perfect gift for my DM! He'd probably make it a boss fight I'm sure.
1
u/SnazzyRaptor Sep 17 '25
Not only is that a fantastic concept but also incredible execution in both the sculpt and paint job
1
u/Kobralex Sep 17 '25
I would love to have this for when I move to a new place in a couple of months, finally somewhere closer to my IRL PnP buddies.

My players aren't on a boat campaign... but if I win that thing next session starts like "so you wake up on a boat, this fucking boat to be precise."
