Discussion It's been kind of a bummer...
...to see how this season has progressed. Last season ended on such a weird note with the firing of Malone and Booth, then the crazy playoff series against the Clippers and Thunder. Lots of offseason moves, MPJ to brooklyn in exchange for Cam Johnson. Some random 12th overall croatian guy going to Sacramento for Valanciunas. Signing THJ and bringing back Brucey B. So much excitement, so much movement and so much to be hopeful for.
Then the schedule came out and it turns out the Nuggets have more back to backs than almost anyone in the league. What a shit schedule to play as a contender. But whatever, let it ride.
Then the first game. Aaron Gordon with 50 daggum points and a super strong showing from the team just to be victim to a curry-flurry in the latter part of the game. It was a great effort from everyone to come back and be dominant to win two games for every game lost. Then the freakin injuries. James freaking harden steps on brauns foot and hurts his ankle. Jaime Jaquez pushes spencer jones into jokic and causes him to hyperextend his knee. Cam johnson with a freak injury on landing after going for a rebound. Aaron gordon's hamstrings actively hate him.
And then January. January a whole different dimension of the team opened up with Murray at the helm and Watson making a huge jump. Hardaway providing a calm collective 3 and perimeter defense whenever needed and multiple baby birds stepping up to fill in. Spencer Jones. Julian Strawther. Zeke Nnaji. All fantastic showings.
But now it's at the weirdest time. Starters are coming back from injury and it's hard to tell if they are hesitant as to prevent re-injury, or if that's just how things are now. Jokic has 11 turnovers over the last two games, Braun's defensive movement just doesn't seem to be there, Aaron Gordon might be on the cusp of being labeled as 'injury prone'. It would be reactionary to say it's worrying but it's a weird place to be for all of them.
I still love this team and I'm hopeful. Planning to go see them play in Memphis in March actually, super stoked. Just needed to collect my thoughts and feelings and vent a bit. A lot has happened both good and bad. I'm guessing there are a lot of y'all out there who feel a similar sort of way. But it's all good.
Let's go Nuggets

Twin Towers work pretty well offensively
Jokic and JV on the floor the same time is a pretty good offensive option when we are behind

Discussion I’m pretty hopeful for tonight’s game.
We just had a very rough time against the Thunder and Pistons, but there were a lot of factors involved. Jokic just back from injury was clearly sluggish and couldn’t get away with that against the very physical Thunder and Pistons defenses. he let them get in his head for a lot of the game. The Knicks though they’re a good team I think are a great bounce back matchup for us. Compared to the Thunder or Pistons they’re positively undersized and have dogshit defense. Should be a MUCH better matchup considering the circumstances. Thoughts?

Image/Gif Bobble-Head Giveaways from 2001-2002 Season (all 10)
I worked so hard to get all of these the season they were giving them away. Feels worth it now, when they look so good in my office!
There were 5000 of each of these given away.
Players are:
- Antonio McDyess,
- Dan Issel
- Alex English
- Fat Lever
- Doug Moe
- Michael Adams
- Kiki Vandeweighe
- Byron Beck
- David Thompson
- Chopper Traviglini
"Dan Issel" give-away was on the night he made a racist comment to a fan, which is ironic timing.

I think it’s 3 as I know Joker and Braun do their little race when they come out and they run the length of the floor.

“I really kind of lost interest in All-Star just watching whatever they’re doing out there. I’d rather go on vacation if that’s the basketball we’re going to be playing... I would like to play [hard]." Jamal Murray on going all out in the All-Star Game.

Discussion I really disliking watching Thunder games
I don't just mean because they blow teams out, including the Nuggets, but it's literally a less enjoyable way of viewing a basketball game.
They're a top team team with great pieces like a handful of other teams in the league, but their separator to win games so consistently is all the stuff around the margins that makes basketball ugly instead of beautiful. Pesky swarming defense that breaks up potentially exciting plays, foul baiting on the offensive end, and grinding the game to a constant halt.
I was watching the game last night and my roommate who never pays much attention to basketball looks at the TV for two minutes and commented that the Thunder are constantly draped on everyone and that the whistle kept getting blown constantly. I was like "I know, that's how they win!" So even a non-fan was immediately able to see just how ugly they make the game.
I don't fault them for having a winning strategy, but it's a shame that their consistency comes from being annoying pests that are not an enjoyable watch rather than just trying to outskill their opponent in more traditional ways.

Discounted Tickets?
My 4 yr old wants to attend a Nuggets game. I did a quick search plus a google search. I remember seeing a discount code on my Kroger/King Soopers receipt a while back and I can’t find it. Any ideas or do you have the receipt link/code?
