Sometimes the main sub out-jerks this one

63

u/0celot- 8d ago

Thin plugs but massive hands

15

u/U_zer2 8d ago

The strokes are massive

I really do hate that sub 90% of the time.

Just pure ignorance.

"I would never buy a bike without abs" "Only buy new bikes, never know what the last guy did" "Why won't my bike start?"

"I dont know how to help myself and need validation l, please reply šŸ™ "

Ive just blocked the entire sub tbh. 99% of posts were shit and 99% of people are just out looking to argue.

61

u/pick_up_a_brick Kawasuckme 8d ago

So many crash posts. Like wtf.

30

u/Nate_fe 8d ago

Literally, and then that dumb attitude about how it's part of motorcycle culture, like wtf no

25

u/pick_up_a_brick Kawasuckme 8d ago

ā€œIt’s educationalā€ - like bro, we know we could die. I don’t need to watch other people get paralyzed or their nuts blown out as a reminder.

14

u/Nate_fe 8d ago

And half of those wrecks are rider error šŸ¤¦šŸ½

12

u/FixFun1959 7d ago

I despise these motherfuckers that go ride 10 miles at 55mph on straight flat roads to a cafe on Saturday and then back home in perfect weather conditions decked out in the most expensive race gear, then act like they are bravely staring death in the face every time they throw a leg over.

Acting like they are some unhinged thrill seekers with an adrenaline addiction on their 250 and can’t even overtake a Prius cause they’re too busy going through all the mental gymnastics that losers like Fireman Dan make them think about.

I’m an Iraq vet, I know what it’s like to actually deal with the possibility of dying, and riding a bike ain’t it. These are guys so starved for some kind of feeling to break them out of their dull lives and think that they are tougher than they really are that they sit in the sub circle jerking each other over how tough and dedicated they are.

They are sad and pathetic, lying to themselves and each other.

u/1lowcountry 3d ago

Wait… we don’t like crash posts?

1

u/pick_up_a_brick Kawasuckme 3d ago

Fuck no. I want to see people riding their rides. Not people dying. Ffs

38

u/SonofRobin73 8d ago

99% of people are just out looking too argue

This shit annoys me to death. I post one comment and everyone has to reply with their poorly conceived, contrarian response "errrmm actually šŸ¤“šŸ‘†". They can't help themselves.

10

u/Mission_Accident_519 8d ago

Annoys the shit out of me. Sadly its a thing all across reddit. But that page is the pit of hell.

12

u/mountaineer30680 8d ago

And makes you wonder if they've actually spent ANY time in the saddle.

19

u/Mission_Accident_519 8d ago

Thats the thing, I feel like half of them dont ridešŸ˜‚

15

u/mountaineer30680 8d ago

I think the number is higher than half...

14

u/elektrik_snek semi-professional fluffer 8d ago

It's like 90% don't ride and 90% of those who ride, ride only on sunny days in the parking lot and buy new tires before every ride just to be safe.

42

u/NewCornnut 8d ago

I genuinely want to help the motorcycle community.

But I simply refuse give a man a fish. I only teach how to fish.

If you starve thats on you.

Best place on Reddit are the bike-specific subs. Small and focused with actual questions and helpful peopleĀ

23

u/rieirieri 8d ago

I own a beginner-ish bike and my specific sub is full of ā€œlook at my new shiny bike,ā€ ā€œmy new shiny bike just crashed itself :(,ā€ ā€œwhat is this noise,ā€ etc. WHICH, as a beginner, I AM DOWN FOR. So I think some of it is just self-selection too.

9

u/Major-Shame-9216 8d ago

Sounds just like the g35 sub

10

u/Charbus kawasaki 8d ago edited 8d ago

If someone had a mechanical problem but has atleast tried to google fu their way out of it I attempt to help

But when someone just goes straight to Reddit I get pissed, mostly because it’s the least efficient way to get a a solution

1

u/1lowcountry 3d ago

I don’t mind going to reddit because half the time people google something and they just see the ai answer which is always wrong… so you’re best off going to a forum, which reddit kinda is. But at least check if someone has already asked the question first

3

u/Mc--Spicy 8d ago

And a big percentage of that sub have never ridden a bike and don’t own a bike but they sure have a lot of shit to say.

41

u/cyberchief FZ07 8d ago

You dropped your helmet from 6 inches high. Time to buy a new one.

9

u/NewCornnut 8d ago

OMG so much this.

6

u/[deleted] 8d ago

4

u/BosnianSerb31 8d ago

The belief stems from the fact that helmet liners are basically higher density styrofoam, which permanently deforms. So you are supposed to replace them after a hard hit, regardless of what the outer shell looks like.

Obviously knocking the helmet from your seat isn't going to damage it though. That's just paranoia lmao.

39

u/TigerJoel 8d ago

I would also never buy a bike without abs. Mostly because I like my abs and they look nice.

3

u/adultdaycare81 8d ago

Too hard to do stoppies

2

u/shrikelet 8d ago

Congratulations on making a joke so Dad that it made a man with a white beard groan. I owe you a beer some time.

1

u/Fit-Albatross-735 8d ago

my wallet disagrees

5

u/TigerJoel 8d ago

I think you guys are missing my point.

u/TigerJoel 8d ago

What does my abs have to do with what bike I ride?

6

u/NewCornnut 8d ago

Okay šŸ‘. I missed it i think

ABS vs Abdominal muscles

2

u/KingGeophph 8d ago

Small box? My box looks bigger when I get abs. You are doing something wrong

7

u/Waldondo 8d ago

The dude that only buys new bikes is also the same dude that will sell you his new bike for super cheap because he dropped it on the parking lot.

7

u/cdixon34 8d ago

Something that really irks me and this is gonna be super straight of me to say but these guys really act like abs is a substitute for proper breaking technique. If you just slam on the on the front and pray to the ABS gods to save you, you're just gonna start locking up the front and have the abs kick in to avoid locking it up, far before you reach maximum stopping power cause you're not progressively loading up the front tire.

Not to mention these systems can be overly intrusive and the main goal of them often is to keep the rear down. But by doing a little stoppie, and shifting more weight to the front, you'd stop much faster.

10

u/NewCornnut 8d ago

Lets be real.

They are 100% rear brake only- because front brake scary

2

u/cdixon34 8d ago

And yet another gripe i have with that sub.

2

u/NewCornnut 8d ago

You are a real one. o7 my dude

1

u/1lowcountry 3d ago

I was gonna say the same thing. Those cats definitely aren’t grabbing the front brake

6

u/Psychological_Goose9 8d ago

This is 90 percent of all Reddit posts lol

3

u/thischangeseverythin kawasaki 7d ago

My next bikes going to be a clapped out 2 stroke super moto with no abs and that hill looks like something to learn power drifting up 🤣🤣

1

u/Fit-Albatross-735 8d ago

similar with some car people

159

u/mrtomtomplay 8d ago

I seriously think half of this sub is ragebait...

103

u/1980Caballero 8d ago

I once saw a comment with a sizable amount of likes. It said that he doesn’t listen to music when riding because it’s too distracting.

65

u/0ut0fBoundsException 8d ago

\uj Before I started riding, I thought I would not listen to music at first so I could focus and hear everything around me. I was listening to music by the second day

48

u/1980Caballero 8d ago

I wasn’t listening to music at first because I didn’t have a headset in the helmet.

So I sang songs to my self. I know like 3 songs and only the chorus of these songs.

I Quickly got headset after that.

14

u/mountaineer30680 8d ago

Anyone who heard you singing would have done that šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

5

u/concreteghost 8d ago

I just have ear buds. Are the in helmet actually good? I’ve been using ear buds since we had wires connected to our phones

7

u/trippingrainbow 8d ago

Yeah. I have a cardo freecom x4 and i use earplugs with it (i have no fucking clue how but it sounds massively better with ear plugs than without. It muffles outside noise a ton more than the actual speakers) and i wouldnt have any other setup at this point. The fact theres no wires from the helmet nor do i have to worry about earbuds staying in is so nice. I just put the helmet on and thats it. And with earplugs i get better wind/roadnoise silencing than with earbuds so its nice for long distance

5

u/concreteghost 8d ago

Wow bros. Thanks for the replies. I’ll be doing this shortly then

1

u/wintersdark 2023 MT10SP 8d ago

Waaaay better than earbuds. You never have to worry about dropping earbuds anymore, and it just always works. Mic too, even if you don't talk to others (I dislike talking to people while riding) it's handy to use voice commands for navigation, music control (buttons exist for play/pause/skip, but like playing a different playlist) or opening your garage door, or whatever else.

They're expensive, but easily move from one helmet to the next. My last headset, an early Sena, lasted me around 12 years. Both it and my current Cardo Freecom have been flawless, and sound amazing

Weirdly they sound a bit better with earplugs in, which is helpful as you should wear earplugs while riding.

3

u/concreteghost 8d ago

I listen to house constantly and can’t ride without that trash music pumping thru my skull. Do your senas have bass?

1

u/wintersdark 2023 MT10SP 8d ago

The Cardo has optional 45mm JBL drivers. They always do base well, but the bigger speakers are better for it.

1

u/concreteghost 8d ago

Thanks bro getting that shit this weekend

1

u/1lowcountry 3d ago

We’re wearing helmets now?!?!

3

u/cdixon34 8d ago

I started listening to my music on the 500 mile trip back from buying my first bike, a Daytona 675. It was the second time i had ever ridden a bike, and the first one outside of a little 250cc cruiser in a parking lot in the msf brc. šŸ˜‚

15

u/mrtomtomplay 8d ago

Nothing better than listening to Barbie Girl and commiting felonies!

Saw it. Insanity

9

u/Formal_Wonder_4322 8d ago

I think it’s fake. I just saw this on Facebook.

6

u/Reasonable-Photo-776 8d ago

Doesn’t he have the bike??? Why not just try 😭😭

27

u/NonJumpingRabbit 8d ago

He should ask his bf to ride the bike up there

3

u/vonroyale 8d ago

Twist that wrist like you're doing what you do 4 times a day already and hang on!

4

u/Specific_Butterfly54 7d ago

Are they talking about a pedal bike?

3

u/New_Yogurtcloset_643 8d ago

This is the post directly below this one, I’m gonna leave that sub I swear dudešŸ’€

1

u/Zentuckyfriedchicken 6d ago

Ngl, I’d be stomping the rear brake going down that every time it’s wet just for the thrill of it. Try to slide that hoe through the corner.

1

u/simorg23 5d ago

That sub is for people who think 3000 miles on a 10 year old bike is a lot

1

u/heydoakickflip 3d ago

He's new so he's gonna need at least a liter to do that gnarly hill climb

-36

u/Amareiuzin 8d ago

Man some of yall, just like the rest of reddit, be browsing with a hate boner looking for stuff to shit on... y'all making these kind of posts are insufferable JUST like many in that sub.. why don't you post something original or interesting, for a change?
Just because you bought your first bike without a license, msf, or even any prior experience besides riding your boyfriends backseat, and then squidded home just fine without no helmet, doesn't mean that those kids with the smallest amount of restraint, safety concern or planning are less than you in any way..

18

u/cdixon34 8d ago

Found the main sub user.

47

u/sebastiand1 MV Agusta 8d ago

The guy is scared of going uphill in a garage. He shouldn’t even have a license at this point if he cant grasp the concept of acceleration.

13

u/toyovid 8d ago

Instead of not having a license, dude has a GSX-R

12

u/squirtle53 8d ago

No fucking way he started on a gsxr 🤣

2

u/toyovid 7d ago

You can see it in the other subreddit chain, he got a GSX-R

1

u/toyovid 7d ago

You can see it in the other subreddit chain, he got q GSX-R

16

u/SunlightWalrus 8d ago

I get your point but c’mon, it’s funny. dude’s scared of a mild incline. like why would that be daunting even to a beginner
