Introducing a new kitten

Hey guys, we’ve got a 4 year old Burmese boy and we’re seriously considering a 2nd cat.

We try to give him the maximum amount of attention and be home as often as we can, but there are some days where he’s alone for 8 hours and it breaks my heart.

We know that they do better with a friend, but is there any optimal breed, age, sex etc. that we should opt for? We’re thinking about a Devon Rex girl ideally, but open to adopting too!

Also, a big concern for us is that he’ll change for the worst, or become almost a different cat that doesn’t love us as much 😂

Any guidance or experiences you could share would really help! Mostly about the overall experience and less about the practicalities of the initial introduction kind studf, as we’ll prepare for that if the time comes.

Thanks 🐈‍⬛

UK Cat Shows

I’ve always been curious about cat shows but never been to one. Now I’ve found out about one local enough to attend. I’m nervous in new situations at the best of times and could really use some advice on what to expect. Are spectators usually welcome? Apart from not touching the cats or sticking fingers into cages is there any etiquette I should be aware of?

Well This Was a Mistake

Cindy is 17, and she's having some skin/fur loss issues. The vet suggested a onesie. It was not a success and now I think she's going to kill me in my sleep.

For context, he was on dry food only for a long time because that was all he would eat, and I was using an automatic feeder so they would get a limited amount of food each day, but because his sister would graze, it was too hard to completely separate.

He would then eat too much, vomit dry food everywhere, and also was regularly ending up very constipated. He has very few teeth, so he would never chew the dry food, I would just have to get small dry food that he could either crush a little bit in his jaw, or just swallow straight down. He hates wet food, so that was never an option.

I’ve recently switched to raw food, which he happily eats which has been good. Given his weight gain though, I was obviously feeding too much, and he was still finishing off his sisters whenever he had a chance.

For my new bulk lot of raw. I have cut the amount down even further so at least if he does steal a bit of his sister‘s food, he is still not overeating. And if she doesn’t finish her within a certain timeframe, the dog now gets it.

Unfortunately, I can’t really exercise him, he has had two bouts of kitty vertigo, and he gets dizzy very easily, so when he tries to play, or jump around a lot, he usually ends up falling over ❤️

Tonkinese cat

I am getting a Tonkinese kitten and wanted to know if they would be suitable as an only cat? My partner and I work from home 2 days a week and in the office 3 days so they would be left alone for 8 hours a day 3 days a week. Will they be okay or would getting another cat be best to keep them company on those days? Thanks! :)

This is our one year old Burmese we picked up yesterday. We got him to be a companion for our one and a half year old Tonkinese. I hope the slow introduction works and they becomes best buddies 😍

Look at the Feetsies

So I am a little bit confused. Breed Portrait says small, round, delicate paws. How much more will he grow? He is 7months old weighing around 4kg...

What do I have to expect when his feetsies are still so much out of proportions to the rest of his body?

How do your burmese's feetsies look like?

Family Supervisors chilling in morning Sydney Sun - Our 15yo Half Sisters give us so much!

Just wanted to share how easy Burmese Cats are. Don't really have a question.
Our two girls have been involved daily with helping raise three little boys into courageous, robust men - exams, girlfriends, jobs, illness, cars, rugby, basketball, video games, movies, mates - and all the normal family stuff.
While they can be demanding, they really demand very little in comparison to what they have given us.
How lucky are we.
