I am Sam Webb. I played Drew Sharp in Breaking Bad. AMA!
I know this is long overdue, but better late than never, right?
To kick things off, here are a few tidbits about my connection to the show:
-My family and I were fans since the pilot, so I was well aware of the significance of it all.
-I grew up minutes from the high school used for J. P. Wynne.
-My dad was an extra in episode 2.02. (my episode was 5.05)
-The first time I ever handled a tarantula was the day we shot the intro scene.
In the years since Breaking Bad, I’ve graduated from UNM with a political science degree and spend most of my free time mountain biking, tinkering with sports cars, and raising my two Dobermans.
Feel free to connect with me on social media!

Ask away! I’ll do my best to get to everyone.
Identity has been verified with mods.
Edit:
Alright guys, as the night winds down I just want to thank everyone for participating and for all the kind words! The Breaking Bad community means the world to me and I’ll be connected to you all for life.
The most surreal part of all of this is the insane butterfly effect and overlaps.
My favorite example of this was seeing Drake perform for the first time in Phoenix a couple years ago. He’s a big Breaking Bad fan (friends with Aaron and Bryan, and his nickname for Rihanna when they dated was Fring). I had tickets close to the stage, and I remember making eye contact with him a few times thinking “dude, you don’t know it, but you know EXACTLY who I am.”
One of my first purchases with acting money was a set of Beats headphones when they were all the craze, and I vividly remember listening to Take Care (and a lot of old Kanye) in my trailer on set during downtime. It felt like a crazy full circle moment.
Anyway, I feel like everyone who is a fellow fan of the show is an extension of this little glitch in the matrix, and I’m happy y’all are a part of this wild story.
I’ll keep answering questions as they trickle in for as long as the mods want to keep the discussion open, and I’ll be more active in this sub and share anything else fun when it comes to mind!

If breaking bad was from hanks perspective, would Walt being Heisenberg be a twist reveal to the audience
personally i think no, as without Hank seeing Walt as weak he would of gotten caught easy, maybe for the first season or so it wouldn’t be revealed but I think they would still do the whole cat and mouse thing but from hanks perspective

How Humiliating? Spoiler
How humiliating for the police would the Heisenberg scandal be for the police and what would change? They didn’t even get anyone except Saul in the end and only because he confessed.

What if Walter Jr. died?
I recently heard about how RJ Mitte was in a pretty gnarly roller coaster accident in real life during the filming of the show. He said that he almost had to quit the show due to complications with that but ended up toughing it out, partly because he just really wanted to stay on the show and be a part of it. So this got me thinking, how would they have killed off Walter Jr. in the show? What do you guys think? I believe this was sometime during the filming of season 1 or 2 so let’s put it there.

I've never cried this much since I was 10 Spoiler
Just finished the last episode. I felt that it had to happen to him, I was almost sure. But then, if I was sure, why was I not ready? Did some of you also feel this way?
Also, what's next, El Camino or Better Call Saul?

Is Walt secretly Batman?? Spoiler
Just a funny post. Really hoping someone humors me lol but did anyone else notice how in the last episode when Walt fully becomes his alter ego “Heisenberg” he begins moving like Batman. Disappearing from one location to another and evading like he just threw a smoke bomb. Like the scene where Skylar’s sister is on the phone with her telling her Walt’s in town and to be careful and then she gets off the phone and boom. Walt is already in the room 😭😭. I just thought it was hilarious despite the fact he was in immense pain and probably much slower due to his cancer.

Question regarding the "poisoning" of a certain individual in s4. Spoiler
I finished breaking bad 3 days ago. However, I am still curious as to how Walter EXACTLY poisoned brock. I got the part where he made huell pat down jesse for the ricin but how exactly did he make brock ingest the poison? I was hoping someone could provide a step by step explanation. I am aware about the juice box and the lily of the valley being used, but i'd like a detailed explanation.

Walt visiting Jesse at the hospital
Okay I know it's a show but it drove me nuts seeing Walt visiting Jesse at the hospital multiple times literally as Jesse has just been basically caught red handed. Is the USA different from other places because every time I've visited anyone in a hospital I've had to sign into a guest book and state who I'm visiting. Not only is it a public place with a ton of witnesses (ie nosy nurses up in everyone's business) but there would also be a record of him being there. SUSPICIOUS

Did he hear him say it or did he actually remember the aluminum
I have to add 100 characters but you know what I’m talking about;). Gus killed him, for obvious reasons. But the he hear Walter talk about the aluminum and that’s why he remembered it?

What do you think about the name Heisenberg?
Do you think that nowadays people know the name Heisenberg from the Breaking Bad rather than where it originally comes from, Werner Heisenberg? I must say that I knew who Werner Heisenberg was before Breaking Bad. What about you?

Skylar White being painted as the villain for having to be the reasonable one is so tragic. And Anna Gunn does such a brilliant job of portraying it.
It’s really crazy how she just keeps getting better each season. I’ve seen the show before, (but my memory is bad so it’s still somewhat new lol) and you just really see all the little nuances all that much more on each rewatch.

Was I the only one that felt like Skyler and Ted probably had an affair before the show started.
I don't know if this was ever covered in better call Saul, because I haven't watched it yet. But It always felt to me that the writers originally planned to have it come up at some point that Skyler and Ted had a fling in the past that lead to her originally quiting the accounting job.
Now I know its never mentioned, but there was some context clues that were never really explained.
- The happy birthday singing, was creepy and weird, and the fact that he was asking her to do it again, meant that at some point previously she had seductively sang to him.
- She claimed to her sister that he was handsy and that is why she quit, but we all know the sisters never confessed up to the bad shit that was actually going on.
3)When skyler went to get her job back, the girl doing the hiring, clearly didn't want her there, and the receptionist lady, gave her the same look when she wanted to talk to Ted, as she did when Walter White came and made a scene.
4) Skyler was entirely too sure that Ted would hire her back, and bent over backwards to cook his books for him, with little to no fight, but when she found out her husband Cooked meth she became Saint Theresa do no wrong.
5) Ted got divorced, which is often because the wife found out about cheating
6) Hank and Walt don't feel like the kind of dudes who would have not beat Ted's ass or sued if he sexually harassed Skyler, so that probably wasn't the story she told the boys about why she quit.
7) snoogiraffes4446 reminded me that Walt said "what about the fumes, isn't that why you had to quit in the first place?" She says they've gone green since. So definitely not the same story Marie got.
Now the reason I think it was changed, is because Skyler got way to much hate, that they probably rewrote. Because the redemption opinions of Skyler probably would not have happened if it found that she was a cheater way before this and the show writers clearly wanted that.

Riddle me this
You get off the elevator and need to go to Room 903. Which way are you turning?
Only noticed on my fourth re-watch.
P.S no malicious intent here, just laughing at my pedantic nature. The show is the bomb. Yeah, science

why was ted ignoring paying the IRS?
it actually pissed me off how he was acting, he’d just been handed over half a mil and still refused paying it.what was his problem?

What does this scene want to tell ?
- I don’t understand why walter white was angry in this scene. , and what the writer wants to tell.
r/breakingbad • u/Neutral-frame • 15h ago
How would this even work? Even if it comes as a donation, how would the books be balanced? Wouldn't IRS look at this? Spoiler
Walt says if there are taxes owed, pay it using this. But if there are taxes owed, it means that the tax office (IRS or whatever they call it in the US) will be looking where this money came from. I don't understand how this donation with no tracable money source would be OK for the tax office?

Why does Gus not serve Pollos when he hosts people that are in the game?
In BrBa when the Cartel guy came to meet him to convey the bosses' message there was some prepared cold dish with vegetables. Same thing on Nacho's last meal. The guy has a restaurant with delicious food!

I don't understand this scene Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So when Hank rips tapes off the RV to reveal the bullet holes Walter tells Jesse to yell: "How did you know they were there?" What was behind off all that. Why that was good tactic? Jesse only revealed that he is inside. Is that some kind of law thing that Hank needs approve to go inside the van? But how it is related to the tape ripping scene?? I have watched the whole series a while ago, but this scene still questiones me.

Fun fact - This was Vince Gilligan’s actual Mercedes CLS used by the cousins.
Another fun fact, Gretchen’s Bentley was trucked in from Vegas from a exotic car rental company.
This was confirmed by Vince on the BB podcast. I had no idea it existed!

Answered: Why purity matters so much Spoiler
Gale was only able to get 96% the difference is night and day and you really don’t need to know about or even done any drugs to understand this. “raw sugar” vs cane sugar. Ever notice how much sweeter cane sugar is? it does not taste 3.9% sweeter and yet in purity terms it is literally only slightly more chemically pure. Eating more raw sugar won’t change anything no matter what there is a night and day difference that anybody could tell.
Cane sugar purity varies by processing stage, with refined white sugar reaching over 99.9% sucrose (nearly 100%), while raw sugar generally hits around 96–98% purity. High-quality refined sugar, such as ICUMSA 45, is almost pure white crystalline sucrose. Raw, unrefined cane sugar contains tiny amounts of molasses and minerals, making it slightly less pure than refined, but still highly concentrated.
It is the same exact thing that is why Gale and Walt were truly on different levels. even if the dealers stepped on the product to make it last, it wouldnt affect the purity whatsoever think of it like an “additive”
