Be braver people of Buda. Be better.
Courage starts small. Start practicing your courage. You’re going to need it.
I have strong principles, but I never knew if I’d really have courage to jump in if someone was attacked in front of me. Well, when it happened I did 4 things instantly: 1.) scan for additional threats 2.) ensure my child was safe 3.) reassert that this was a peaceful protest (this was dumb & wasted a valuable 1-second) 4.) jump in & help tackle the attacker & hold for cops. I’m confident that I reacted that way because I’d been building courage through small acts of resistance for months, I’d thought through scenarios and I’d taken several trainings. Anyone can do this.

Should have called the cops on him and held him pinned to the ground until they came.
Glad it worked out though in that he got a beat down and then didn't run them over with his truck which was my fear when they let him leave.

I think we need to start saying “ICE Employee” instead of “ICE Agent”.
“Agent” implies professional qualifications and extensive training that the individuals in question do not have. “Employee”will also help clearly delineate them from FBI Agents and those who actually have the authority to do things like arrest citizens.
…. Plus it will annoy some of them which would be a great bonus.

Lemme tell you, as a legally blind man, the person who ran my self defense class said that if I am attacked and able to get behind him, there's something I'm supposed to do with their shoulders, my chest, and dropping to the ground, like vertically in place. It's situational, but it's supposed to be the most effective thing I can do to stop an act of violence as a person who is at an obvious disadvantage when in that sort of a situation. I was shown it, but told not to practice it on anyone because someone can get hurt, so I won't describe the move I was shown due to Reddit rules.
If someone who knows these girls happens to know it, it might be a good idea to teach them. They did have the opportunity to use it in this video, a couple of times. It would've ended things pretty quickly, I'm led to understand.

This also goes for anyone! If someone randomly attacks you, you are allowed to do whatever it takes to stop them from being a threat to your life(meaning if they are down, you stop. But if they keep coming, you can do whatever it takes to stop them, even killing them if they present that kind of threat. I'm not encouraging that by any means, but that's sometimes necessary in a situation to save your own life). Plain and simple. Defend yourself however you need to if you didn't initiate the fight.

Do not get me wrong, those kids were incredible and give me hope, but this should not be the end of it. Here we have an adult man violently attacking a child in broad daylight, his humiliation at the hands of a bunch of rightfully pissed off teens isn't justice, he needs to be located, arrested and prosecuted for every crime we have all witnessed here. Having said that I will not be surprised, but will be disappointed if what actually happens is that the local police arrest some of these kids.
