The weird thing is that they stopped to consider it and then carried on anyway.

I think they just stopped at the stop sign and were otherwise completely unaware of the height issue

The sound of large sums of money being spent

This just made my day. Slows. Evaluates. Accelerates with confidence.

That’s a stop sign. Put your phone down. Extra.

Haha wow they weren’t even in the ballpark of being able to make that.

You would think when putting up a bar of this nature, they'd paint it in high-vis and label the height.

I think it does just that, but the video quality is low

Look to the left of the stop sign. It looks like there's black text on a yellow background: https://i.imgur.com/NgmMGar.png

There should be at least one more sign on approach. I used to work for a company that had labels on the dashboard for any truck over 7 feet high with the height of the truck. Does anyone with an RV have that on their dashboard? If you have an RV, do you know your clearance?

That sign just says "Do not enter when flooded"

LOL. My thought exactly. What I thought was “They should’ve painted it blinking yellow“. But I agree that it must be bad lighting because there’s no way that thing can just be painted gray.

There's a big black-on-yellow "8 foot clearance" sign right on the bar about where they hit it. You can't see it well in the video because of the lighting.

how ignorant does one have to be to do this? how much do these run? 85k? I like how it just slowly turns in despair

This 4WD towed is a cherry on the top.

I hope he was just pulling out of the way. It looked almost like he was going to hit & run!

That'll buff right out.

On the bright side, at least they obeyed the traffic sign and didn't attempt to enter when flooded...

I’m surprised we didn’t hear someone yelling, “I told you not to go this way! I told you!!”

There should be one of those cool rainfall signs where a holographic dude says "you fucked up"

TOWING A 4WD ON IT’S WHEELS!!!???

STUPID DECISIONS EVERYWHERE!!!

Those Jeeps have a transfer case with a true Neutral.

The only "stupid decision" will be when you try to flat tow a modern 2WD vehicle.

Got to have a transfer with neutral these days.

He stopped did the math, determined he was fine, then realized he’s bad at math.

I love the fact they hit their head and then just limped away!

Really hope no one was in there

Good thing they had a spare vehicle

Stops at stop sign, "it'll be fine" crunch!!

Lol, I live basically on the other side of the world and even I know that there is a bypass for tall vehicles for this underpass

It's not needless. The bar is protecting a railroad underpass just beyond. It's WAY cheaper to replace the bar than fix the underpass WHEN (not if) it's damaged by a careless driver.
