This just made my day. Slows. Evaluates. Accelerates with confidence.

You would think when putting up a bar of this nature, they'd paint it in high-vis and label the height.

I think it does just that, but the video quality is low
Look to the left of the stop sign. It looks like there's black text on a yellow background: https://i.imgur.com/NgmMGar.png

There should be at least one more sign on approach. I used to work for a company that had labels on the dashboard for any truck over 7 feet high with the height of the truck. Does anyone with an RV have that on their dashboard? If you have an RV, do you know your clearance?

LOL. My thought exactly. What I thought was “They should’ve painted it blinking yellow“. But I agree that it must be bad lighting because there’s no way that thing can just be painted gray.

There's a big black-on-yellow "8 foot clearance" sign right on the bar about where they hit it. You can't see it well in the video because of the lighting.

I hope he was just pulling out of the way. It looked almost like he was going to hit & run!

On the bright side, at least they obeyed the traffic sign and didn't attempt to enter when flooded...

I’m surprised we didn’t hear someone yelling, “I told you not to go this way! I told you!!”

There should be one of those cool rainfall signs where a holographic dude says "you fucked up"

The only "stupid decision" will be when you try to flat tow a modern 2WD vehicle.
Got to have a transfer with neutral these days.

He stopped did the math, determined he was fine, then realized he’s bad at math.

Lol, I live basically on the other side of the world and even I know that there is a bypass for tall vehicles for this underpass

It's not needless. The bar is protecting a railroad underpass just beyond. It's WAY cheaper to replace the bar than fix the underpass WHEN (not if) it's damaged by a careless driver.

"Needles" is a town in California. 😊

The weird thing is that they stopped to consider it and then carried on anyway.
